As part of my work as an assistant to the project on family homelessness, I had the opportunity to record and discussion with the playwright David Craig, author of the play Danny, King of the Basement. Danny follows the story of a young boy and his mother and their struggles with housing instability. After watching the play, Mr. Craig sat down with a number of women from the Seattle area involved with ending homelessness in our state and a question was asked: how is Danny received differently in the different countries in which it is performed? His answer hit me hard. Give it a listen, and look for the full recording to be posted soon. Find it here.
